You take the whole house, the walled garden and the orangery for a full weekend — and there is nobody else on the estate while you are here.

A house that was never converted into a venue — it simply started hosting weddings.


The orangery was built in 1834 to overwinter citrus trees, and it still has the original glass. We have added heating, a licence and a great many chairs, and left almost everything else alone.

The day

How a weekend here runs

  • Fri

    You move in

    Arrive from 2pm. Rehearsal, then supper for up to thirty in the kitchen. Sixteen bedrooms across the house and coach house.

  • Sat

    The wedding

    Ceremony in the walled garden or the orangery. Drinks on the lawn, dining in the barn, dancing until 1am.

  • Sun

    Breakfast, slowly

    Long breakfast in the orangery. Check-out at 11am — no rush, and no other couple waiting.

We hold twenty-two weekends a year and they go about eighteen months out. Ring the house — Rachel or Tom will pick up, and you will get a straight answer rather than a brochure.
